I checked out the HopCat this past Saturday night after an excellent Tapas dinner at San Chez. It was packed, but expected with the grand opening. Hopcat is a typical bar setting and the smoking free atmosphere is a super plus because I can't stand to have a good beer, or my clothes, spoiled by the cigarette smoke. (smoking is upstairs, as a non-smoker I didn't visit that room) The place has a micro brew variety with 48 taps and a huge bottle selection. I stayed long enough to have a local brew as it was elbow-to-elbow standing room only. I'll be back to check it out again when it's less busy. Also, the new smoke free Founders Brewing tap room is much larger and only a couple blocks walking distance from the HopCat.
